  • yeah i was very lucky boy and got one of the last gangsta frames for my birthday from my girlfriend. Would never have been able to justify spending that much on a frame for myself.

might try this for a brake, before i start welding : http://www.billys.co.uk/english/group.php?prod=bsdn-u-plate

hopefully the new gangsta's will be in your price range mr scoble :)

  • Because I couldn't afford the frame alone, building up the Condor cost as much as a new BMW frame.

aaaaand where is it now? :)

  • Sold it due to doctor's order, really pissed me off royally as it was perfect (Open Pro with Phils low flange, 75 crankset, thomson seatpost, atac pedal, etc.).

Taking it easy with the geared bicycle for now until I've done my physiotherapy.

  • @archies grobags - why have you used a non intergrated headset? because of this ?:

who welded on the canti monts to your fork?

    cheers

Because mine was one of the first batch before they switched to Integrated.
A friend in Leeds brazed them on for me...he's on here somewhere but can't remember what name he's using now?

  • Feather?

  • cheers, might look into getting some brazed onto mine soon

  • Feather?
    It wasn't a frame builder.

  • I think I know who you mean Scott, he used to post as pinklady V icequeen.

  • Here's a couple of pics of my 'tracker'. New on here, i posted this in the Bike porn section and it seems to have got right up some peoples noses? ....Arsed.

Because you didn't give the forum the one minor bit of respect it asks for, of reading for a while before writing. If you had, you would not have made the classic noob blunder of posting your own bike in porn.

  • Pardon me

  • Dude, read the rules before getting all sparkled.
    ; )

  • ged, bike porn is for other people's bikes that give you the horn, not your own. Readers wives innit!
What mdcc is saying is if you'd read the thread, spent a bit of time perusing the forum you would have been aware of this convention. To then go arsed is just a bit juvenile. Come out to drinks, if your in town and show off the bike in the flesh you'll probably get a better reception...

  • Forgive me folks, i didn't see any rules regarding the porn.

  • You don't need to, just don't dive into the pool without checking if the water is deep enough.

surely it's pretty much common sense that people who show off their stuff will be regarded a bit of an arse.

Your BMW look almost like a speedway bike, I can see a mount for a coaster brake but there's no coaster hubs?

Your bar angle is pretty weird, can't imaging how comfortable they'll be!

  • Love the Supreme sticker!!

  • just sharing the love of two wheels.....

The bike is loosely based on a speedway bike, that was the rage with the kids years ago. The old trackers were what the 'boys' had pre mountain bike days. I wanted to do bit of homage to them old bikes. The lads i knew in the late '70's used to use road/touring frames and bend the forks in the grids to straighten them, then try and sleeve the forks again. Usually motorbike bars got used. Old english 26" rims, knobbly tyres. Fixed wheel sometimes, pedaling one footed.Kick back brakes were the one for the skid kids. All about the wheelies.
They rode pretty shite compared with anything now but it was purely about kids having no dough and building something to ride. My idea was to do a modern 'tracker' although a bit of a 'posh' one!

The coaster brake tab is there 'cos i've got a couple of other ideas, mtb 26" rear with 2 speed/coaster Bendix hub.

Yeah, bars are a bit mental, but sweet for cruising around. It was always the naughty boys with the big bars years ago. Quite funny with the local teenage scrotes 'round here, they love it, givin' it the 'AW THAT"S GANGSTA'. Funny as ....

  • well i think it looks like a lot of fun!

  • Your bar angle is pretty weird, can't imaging how comfortable they'll be!

    This.

  • I remember trackers in the 70's, had a few myself and used a rear calliper rather than a coaster. Great bike for racing around the woods.

And yes the cow horn bars were shit!
