Will take the saddle if you split :)

Not looking to split right now, but if it comes to it i'll amend the post and price everything individually. Cheers!

I'm not from Toxteth, but grew up in North Wales so wasn't too far away. Me and the guys in my band invented a guy called Barry Toxteth a while ago...it's a long story, but needless to say we put it on everything, just because we think it's funny. Not very mature i know. One of the guys had Toxteth put on the front of his guitar cab. It looks great.

not just that bike, any bike.

Barry Toxteth is one of Britain's most under-rated frame builders.
This frame looks amazing in the flesh - such a good colour.

Honestly, I think you're not being realistic about the price mate, no offense.
The actual value of what you've put together is way less than that,..., even if that's
what you've paid.
You'll be better served if you just split and sell separately, unless you take £200+
off the listed price.
Good luck anyway. -
• #10
btw, how did you make the decal? did armourtex lacquer it after?
-
• #11
that front wheel is fucked. not safe to pass that on

Good luck anyway.Actual retail value of all parts, as well as a respray, would be over a grand. I know it is essentially second hand, and i'm not looking to get retail value on it. But i'll see what interest there is in it. And you're probably right, i'm sure it'd go better split up, but i'm just being lazy!

I cut them out by hand...they do look a little rough up close. They're on top of the paint and lacquer.

That's why i've offered a replacement wheel. It'd be entirely up to anyone who's interested as to whether they use it or not.

chipped carbon is pretty lethal...

• #14
oh sorry didnt see that last comment,
if you were to split. how much would you sell the spinergy for? bearing in mind the chip.
and is there somwhere you can go to get carbon fixed?
cheers -

I know what you're saying, but what I'm trying to say it's that just because you've paid that
it doesn't mean it's worth the money, ... unfortunately something we've all done at some point.
Like the cranks, they could have been pink, but now they've got a coat of (powder coating?) paint on top = commercially not worth the same, even if they were pink.
The same with everything else, that's why by splitting you'll make more justice for what you expect to get from each single component.
Just an opinion ; ) -

interested in the rear wheel if you split.

cheersNot too sure at the mo. And not sure about getting it fixed either, not something i've looked into.

Just an opinion ; )Fair enough. I guess part of me doesn't really want to sell, plus i've literally only just finished building it, i just know i won't ride it. If there's no interest within the next day or so i'll most likely drop the price or split. Hmm.

I've reduced the price of this quite considerably. I could do with the cash at the mo, and I really can't be arsed splitting it up and dealing with selling it all seperately.
All the above info still stands, along with the inclusion of an alternative front wheel.
Bangin. -

Hey i was just wondering how much the bike is going for seeing as you mentioned a price reduction.

Something drastic happened in the past 3 days? Sorry for the sarcasm, but you seemed to have contradicted yourself :)

Hehe, yeah you're right. It's often the way when I decide to sell something...at first I'm indecisive, but after a couple of days I get used to the idea of not having it. Call it contradiction, confusion, I dunno. Stupidity probably. But anyway, I've got plans to buy something substantial and non-bike related. I need to stop buying bikes!

I changed the price in the original post. It's now £550 ono.

I guess I'm about 6' but I've got long(ish) legs. Don't know if that helps?
As for the front wheel, it'll be something that complements the rest of the build, i.e. all or mostly black, probably with a deep v.
I've only just finished building this up after getting the frame sprayed at Armourtex, but i've decided that riding an aluminium frame just isn't as nice as the steel ones i've got. Just personal preference i guess.
The frame is a Tifosi Pista CX, which i'd only ridden a few times before the respray, and i've ridden it even less since. The decals will come off easily; just stuck on over the paint...they're a bit of an in-joke and a bit shoddy as i did them myself.
Sizes are...seat tube 58 c-t, 54 c-c / top tube 56 c-c
Rest of the spec:
Bontrager carbon fork
Concor saddle
Truvativ Team carbon seatpost
Truvativ Team alu stem
Titec risers
Sugino 75 cranks (resprayed also, they were that horrible pinky-red, and that just wouldn't do!)
Sugino 75 BB
Miche chainring
EAI cog
Rear wheel: Halo hub laced to Dodici rim
Front wheel: Spinergy 26" (this is the mtb version, as opposed to 650c, but with a 1" tyre it seems fine)
Toshi double straps
Pretty much everything apart from the front wheel and the straps are new, if not nearly new. I have to point out though, there's a bit of damage to the front wheel; there's a couple of nicks out of one or two of the blades (see pic below). It was like this when i got it, i rode it for a while on another bike and i haven't had problems, nor has it got any worse. However, i appreciate that not everyone would be happy riding on this, so I've probably got a suitable 700c wheel if you'd prefer. Plus, if you'd want a front brake, i can sort that out too, but that'd definitely mean fitting a 700c wheel.
It's at Cavendish Cycles, so feel free to come and take a look/ride if you want. The colour is wicked, it didn't quite come out very well with a phone camera. Any questions just ask. Oh, and no dibs...first come first served!
