  • Just taken possession. Not top quality kit but real 1970s time warp. Almost unmarked. Even has the mid 70s Michelin Elan tyres that are almost wear free (that I will change!).

    1970s Claud Butler Olympic Sprint (Road Track Frame)
    Olympic Range introduced in the late 30s. Olympic Sprints continued until Late 70s.
    Shimano GA-200, Dura-Ace First Gen
    50 t Track ring
    Kyokuto Top Run pedals (70s)
    3TTT Record Quill Stem
    GB Ventoux alloy road bars (Used in 60s and 70s)
    Christophe Special toe clips
    Weinmann Type 500 (Short Reach) side pull brakes (70s)
    MAFAC Course 218, Competition Brake Levers (70s)
    Mavic, Module E (Red Label) 27 by 1 ¼ Clincher alloy rims introduced in 75
    Mavic Module-E rims were introduced in 1975. They were developed in conjunction with Michelin to work with their then new Elan tires.
    Original Michelin Elan 27 by 1” tyres. 70s.
    Milremo small flange track hubs (rear double sided). Imported by Ron Kitchen and most likely French made by Normandy.
    Strong fluted seat pin.

  • Wow! That's a beaut, really lovely. Where on earth did you find it in such great condition? Has exactly the same lugs as my '86 Raleigh Sirroco :)

  • sweet. I have acquired a similar frame, Olympic sprint road track, identical decals. Did you acquire this with the parts all on it? I understand from the link below that the frames were sold as separate unities and not as complete bikes, are you sure its from 1970?

    I use 700c wheels on mine, and short reach brakes. unfortunately non period components. one day maybe.
