I go through that junction every day and I think I saw this, well not the accident but the police cars etc. I could only see 1 car so assumed it was a cyclist that got hit. There was no ambulance so I assume they had already taken her away. Hope she recovers soon.

well spotted. yes lets hope she gets better soon.
the ghost bike is in respect of a trainee nurse that got killed whilst riding about 10 years ago.
the east london advertiser is a good paper that covers these kind of stories.
it deserves our support.

That was Elizabeth Webb killed in 1999. Her father, Robin, made a couple of films about dangerous lorries.
YouTube- 44 tonne lorries and towns don't mix (part 1 of 2)
This was part of the effective lobbying that resulted changes to the specification for lorry mirrors. Most now have wider angle mirrors, reducing the blind spot area dramatically.
Taken from the other thread.
I rode passed this yesterday morning not long after it had happened. Was right by where the ghost bike is but in the outside lane. Never posted a thread as the bike was in the pedestrian crossing/central reservation bit and I assumed it was a pedestrian and the bike belonged to a witness.
Fingers crossed she is ok.
