I've just bought a new frame from Whizzer, so figured it was about time to clear out some of the bits that I'm not (going to be) using.
Dibs and PMs, please. Collection is from Shadwell, E1 or for smaller bits from Imperial College, SW7.
Pub/beater bike: 22" Halfords Olympic
Halfords used to make their bikes in Birmingham. Judging by the couple of 1950s models I've seen, some of them were rather good. This is a late 1960s Halfords Olympic. It's nothing special, just a sturdy plain gauge lugged steel frame with relaxed geometry, but it's well-built and ready to ride. It has a rather nice Halfords riveted headbadge. Comes with GB alloy bars, ugly stem, new bar tape, Weinmann levers and calipers, newish brake cables, 48t ND cottered cranks, TDC bottom bracket, newish 16t Dicta freewheel, new chain, Kobe(??) saddle, union hubs on Rigida Superchromix steel 27x 1 1/4 rims. It used to have newish Michelin World Tours front and rear, but I pulled the wheel in when I changed the chain and found that the tyre rubbed so swapped it for a newer, narrower DSI tyre. I've got the chainlinks I took out and the other Michelin tyre, so I'll chuck them in too. The paintwork has definitely seen better days.
It'll get you to the pub and back.

Selle San Marco Corsaire 313 suede saddle
The suede is in excellent condition - no scrapes or tears, and still nice and soft - but one of the badges has come off. There are two little nicks on the inside, from where a seat post has rubbed, I think, but which aren't visible and don't affect the saddle structurally.
SOLD
GB 1970s alloy stem 9cm
