If LFGSS had a stand at Cycle Show 2010 @ Earls Court... what would we put in it?
Now it ain't cheap... but I have this enormous vinyl banner left over from flogging shirts at the Nocturne and I'd quite like to get some use out of it.
What I'd vaguely like to do is to get a stand and use it to promote the community, wherein I figure that the best thing to do would be to cram a whole load of stuff into a small space and show people there's this great little cottage industry going on, that there are some fantastic events going on.
Hopefully this will translate into more people knowing the forum exists, more customers for the cottage industry, and more and larger sponsors for events.
So I'm thinking it would be good to have representation in some form from the likes of Belk Bags, that the polo crowd should be able to show that they exist and they've got momentum and audience, that the forum can show it's worth, etc.
So... what the hell should a stall look like?
3m x 4m plot? With the LFGSS banner at the back?
Table in front showing off things like Archies and Belk merchandise, a few of the LFGSS T-shirts, perhaps giving info on LMNH?
A couple of bikes on a stand... one nice fixed bike, one representative polo bike (with mallet and ball)?
A couple of volunteers to answer questions and explain the cottage industry, the bike, the culture, polo rules, etc.
There's an agenda behind this... wayne had nearly finished a new design for the site, and once my study finishes in a month's time I want to implement the design ASAP. So this gives me a really hard deadline to focus the mind. Which means I'll finally get around to doing this.
Anyhow... what the fuck should I put on such a stand and who wants in?
