    SWINNERTON ROAD FRAME c1989
    Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 44mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
    Frame Tubing: Reynolds 653
This Swinnerton road frame built from the light Reynolds 853 tubing is in very good condition except for some paint scrapes on the right-hand seatstay. It could well have been built by George Longstaff (George’s daughter managed the Swinnerton shop) and their top frames were built by Longstaffs for quite a period of frame - it certainly shows some George Longstaff details. In my opinion George Longstaff was probably the finest British framebuilder of the last twenty years of the 20th century. It would make a very cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £149

    RALEIGH MISTY MIXTE FRAME 1970s/80s
    Seat Tube ctc: 22in (53cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 60mm
    Seatpost size: 25.4mm
This Raleigh Misty mixte frame is in very good condition and is ideal for fixed or single speed conversion or for use as a geared flat barred city bike. £65

    HOBBS 1947
    Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 112mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 49mm)
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 butted
This Hobbs frame has its original finish with what I think is a delightful patina - some however would disagree and prefer to get it repainted... It comes complete with a rare Lytalloy headset. However the top tube has had something dropped on it and has a reasonably sized dent - this has however not afected the tube’s straightness or frame alignment and will have a minimal impact upon the strength of the frame. Hence it is offered at the bargain price of £59

ATALA ROAD FRAME c1980 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
    Seat Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 47mm)
    Seatpost size: 26.4mm
This is the last of the new old stock frames I have - once again it is in exceptionally nice condition with just a few small shopwear marks. Its well made and comes complete with a NOS headset. It will make a very straightforward conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £125

TOWNSEND EASY TRAIL HYBRID FRAME Reynolds 531
    Seat Tube (ctt): 22.5in (57cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
    Wheel size: 700C
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 ATB
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This 1980s hybrid frame built from Reynolds 531 ATB tubing will make an ideal tough commuter bike running on 700C wheels with cantilever or V-brakes. The paint is in very useable condition and the whole frame is in very good condition. £55

    BRIAN ROURKE ROAD FRAME c1996
    Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 20.75in (52.5cm)
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 42mm
    Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Brian Rourke framesets were and some I believe are still produced in their own workshop by Paul Washington - this frame features his very distinctive and special wrap over seat stays. And has hardly been used - the kit that was taken off looked as if it had not done 100 miles... The paint is truly excellent with just a couple of small chips. This frame I think dates from the middle/late 1990s. I was very impressed by Paul Washington’s workshop when I visited about 12 years ago and his frames are really rather special. £169

RACELIGHT T AUDAX/SPORTIVE LIGHT TOURING FRAME late 1990s
Seat Tube (ctc): 45.5cm (51cm ctt)
    Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 55mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
    Frame tubing: 7005 Aluminium butted
Small light touring/Sportive/Audax frames such as this are really quite uncommon. This Racelight T frame with rack and mudguard mounts has mudguard clearances for at least a 28mm tyre yet taking a standard deep drop Shimano dual pivot brake. This frame is a compact design with sloping top tube. It comes complete as shown in the pics with headset, front derailleur mount and stem. The paint is in very good/excellent condition and there are no dents or dings. A bargain at £95

    MERCKX ROAD FRAME 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctc): 55cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 50mm
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Mercks road frames from the early 1970s are very rare in this country. Merckx licensed the use of his name to different builders in countries across Europe - in England inexplicably it was Falcon but in Belgium it was Kessels. This frame sourced from Germany was probably built by Kessels. Its obviously a quality frame with drilled lugs and heavily slotted BB shell. The frame weight is about 2kg and it takes a 27.0mm seatpost so is built from good quality tubing. The long Campy dropouts suggest it is from the first half of the 1970s. Its ideal for a singlespeed or fixed conversion with its long horizontal dropouts. £195

    HIGGINS ROAD FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 63.5cm (25in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 60cm (23.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 118mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 60mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Higgins frames were built in South Norwood; they were best known for their trike and tandem frames but they also built some really nice road frames. They were specialists in fillet brazing frames to give a smooth continuous appearance - just take a look at how good the fillet brazing is on this frame. This frame I think dates from around the late 1950s. £95

NOT A COLNAGO ROAD FRAME c1983 Belgian built
    Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
    Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 55mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This frame is NOT a Colnago... But it is a nicely made road frame almost certainly made in Belgium - just take a look at the well finished lugs with the unusual diamond shaped windows. The frame has quite a number of marks and a ding to the chainstay - the frame alignment has been checked and is fine. Its obviously built from a high end butted tubeset - the 27.2mm seatpost size is a clear indication of this. It would make a very straightforward conversion. £89
