perhaps it's the re-telling of DJ's misfortunes that has made us all (including myself) a bit sceptical of people who have continual problems with cars while cycling.
I hardly ever have any, but I'm a rather chilled out cyclist and the only major problem I have is people who pass too close to me. About once or so a month I catch up to them and give them the what-for, but for the most part I just shrug it off (which might not be the best plan, but mostly I can't be asked.
I know that a co-worker of mine has a lot more problems, but I rate that because she is very small and drivers don't notice her as well as they notice a blonde amazon on a Brompton.
I'm sorry to hear about the stolen bike, maybe setting up a donation/paypal on your blog would help you get some funds together to purchase another one?
