Well it sounds like it's all true, add me to the incredulous male list!
The psychology of it all's bizarre I mean obviously it seems to be a male thing, yet the majority of males (me included) can't seem to understand it.
I'm actually thinking it might be more a road bullying thing than some sort of odd courtship ritual!
Males see less of it. I honestly can't remember the last time someone shouted abuse at me, when I said 6 months before I actually think it's much longer than that. I ride every single day (commute) so I get the mileage in. I'd say I'm quite an aggressive rider, you'll often find me tearing the centre lane of slow moving traffic, or holding road position when I don't want someone to overtake (while keeping the speed up, trying not to be obstructive). I'd also say I can look a bit aggressive (shaven head).
Then again it might just be the route I do, it's a straight road virtually all the way.
