Two nice nice plain audaxy bicycles riding together this morn on Dunton Rd SE1, one single geared and one multi, crossing my path as I waited to join the road.
Some forumengers outside LMNH yesterday at 12 when I dandered past.

You don't need to be a cunt to be quick. Get a clue.
Rep! I think there's something fundamental about this statement. Maybe we need to all try to stop racing in commuter traffic, for a start. And being selfish.
I don't know why I mention it but: the other day I stopped to help out a courier guy on a busy cycle path that goes to Deptford, who in turn was helping a middle aged commuter. She'd got a flat but no idea really about changing it, she had no tube or tools. I stopped and gave up my tube. She wanted to pay for my tube and his mech skills, we wouldn't hear of it, but she gave the courier a note to buy himself a drink, as it transpired it was his birthday. We three connected in some small way, shook hands then all set off on our way, a little happier and more soulful.
The amount of people who just sailed past us, really fast rush rush home home me me me it's all about me, without even glancing at us, or offering help or anything. A lot of them would have been carrying more suitable stuff than we had, as the courier and I had skinny 700s (and he had no spare tube) but the commuter was using fat 26s, so we could have done with a fat schrader spare. I even asked someone who was riding past, who said, 'yeah I've got a spare, but I might need it up the road'.
I was struck by the selfishness of a lot of commuters on bikes. Maybe that's the link I'm trying to allude to.
