Have to say I really really like this, not usually a fan but this is a really nice one, starting to possibly regret getting silver rims for my next build... I also like that the skidouche who appears to own it is wearing a Cut/Copy tee...

The average Amsterdamian ride at least 1.5-1.8 miles a day, which is a lots less than the average cyclist* in London ride.
Riding a dutch bike is fine
And you got that one right! Don't know about Amsterdam, but I've been to Assen recently and most of them had those LeMond aero bars on their Dutch bikes. They don't seem slow at all, especially on those bicycle highways in the countryside. Even made my driver parents do a 50 km round trip between Assen and Groningen - they seemed happy, relaxed and all while carrying lots of stuff on the rear racks. That wouldn't be possible on a stinking MTB, would it?

I hate the bars and the guy in the pic. I like tattoo sleeves but his just don't do it for me.
I wonder what gear he's riding. Looks pretty tiny tbh so he's probably just another hipster with a nice bike.
Laser tits ftw.

I come from Groningen and was on a bit of a 'farmer' school. One guy did his 23km ride in 45 minutes on a 7 speed with aero bars. The normal speed on a dutch bike is about 20-25kph on a singlespeed when not in the city.

Sounds like you've met Bouke Mollema.
I think 20-25 km/h is a bit high, even for Groningen area. I would say it's more like 10 - 20. Of course there are exceptions.I thought you were from Donderen (nice area).
BTW: I'm from Erica (for sure you know Skik's "Op Fietse"). -

Got to say I see a more people commuting on mountain bikes with at least 1 kind of suspension than on fancy road bikes.
This is because people new to cycling, are worried by the idea of buying a bike (primarily to commute), that has limitations. The front suspensioned hybrid looks like it could cope with the odd trail short-cut while being comfortable on the road, so its a safe looking choice.

new specialized langster. looks pretty lush, don't you think?

He's simply doing a pisstaking on the fact that those Chub Hub look like internal gear hubs.
^ This.
They should make those hubs with a little hatch in the hub body or the side and you could store stuff in their/pour milk in and make some butter as you cycle. -

awesome, but polished stem would be better

In those days, black stems were hot. All other parts silver colour.
I just complain about the outer cable at the rear mech.

I've never liked those brakes. Probably just me though

I lived in Groningen for a year, I love it there. Amazing city to ride in and great surrounding areas too, just missed hills when I was there!

only downside is that it takes a whole bucket of phlegm to pronounce Groningen in Dutch!
