Got to say I see a more people commuting on mountain bikes with at least 1 kind of suspension than on fancy road bikes.
This is because people new to cycling, are worried by the idea of buying a bike (primarily to commute), that has limitations. The front suspensioned hybrid looks like it could cope with the odd trail short-cut while being comfortable on the road, so its a safe looking choice.
