  • ^ I think the logic with black is with a frame that loud, if you start trying to colour code with white deeeeep-Veeeeeez and blue spokes its just going to look gash.

    Silver componants would work imo and blue or white bar tape, but any more and you'll end up with something closer to this than the nice builds above.

    I actually don't mind that build. (Prefer it to current projects)

    I do think the frame suits a hip hop slave setup more than any other...

    GANGSTAAR.

  • Could be, just picked out a book and customised for the customer.

    GANGSTAAR.

    True.

    Altho a spoke on the front is always a fail on a HHSB - has to be on the rear!

  • That shop I just loves going in just to see this

  • I'd get rid of the spoke card.

  • hello!!!! finally finished this about a month and a half ago.... rides like a dream.....

  • CHaffy mudguards and chain guard there ed....Had you been drinkin' an' gettin'
    abit playful with the clements ? I've always liked that shade of blue mind...

    All those Vigorelli make me want to get one.

    The Benotto look wonderful, wish I had this bike when I was a kids.

    Got a frame, an Ernie Clements that's just right for the bike I want to build, 700c but enough clearance for 30c tyres + 45c mudguard, 57ST/56TT, and butted 531;

  • ed i'd do some nitto b603 or similar.

  • I'd get a front wheel.

  • I'd get a front wheel.

    This^

    What happens when you build a bike after 5 beers.....;)

  • Just got a front wheel with dynamo hubs, won't be long to go.

    Hopefully I'll get it finished this week.

  • finally got a proper chainring!
    52-16, 85 GI, lovely.

  • Ed, what chainguard is that, and how does it attach? I would love to put one on this (project completed just last week - IRO Angus frame)

  • I know Leaders aren't exactly popular on here but I've almost finished my new 735tr. Its 61cm frame and its the first frame that i've had that fits me correctly.

    (I know the photos not the best, but i only had my phone at the time.)
    I'm just waiting on an aero steer tube spacer, to make the gap between headset and stem less jarring, and a 3/32 black half-link chain. I have a few other little adjustments to make, saddle and bars, though tbh i probably wont be using these bars unless I'm on the track, after i broke my wrist/hand in several places i can't get on with drops they hurt my hand too much. I'll probably go with bull bars.
    Frame: Leader 735TR 61cm (thanks to 'therocket130')
    Forks: Columbus Tusk Air
    Wheels: Novatec hubs on Wienmann Pegasus 40mm rims. (thanks to 'Varno')
    Cranks/pedals: Sram S100 1.1/sram chain. Origin8 track pro light pedals with genetic cages and straps. 48/18 ratio
    headset/stem: BBB, 100mm stem.
    Bars: Pro Vibe 7S track bars with Pro tape.
    seatpost/saddle: Alpina/ fizik knock off
    Brake: Miche deep drop/ Kore top cross lever

    I'm pretty pleased with it as I had a Visp before this is a major step up for me.

    Really like this....

    What mudguards are they?

  • What mudguards are they?

    Honjo hammered, 37mm. There is just enough clearance. I had to fabricate some aluminum brackets for the top and front of the back one. The front fender was used on the back, to give the shorther back end which I like the look of, and I trimmed the back one for use on the front. The fork is a Surly Steamroller. It has more clearance in the brake area, and it allowed me to go threadless to use the cool Cinelli titanium stem I have had lying in my parts bin for a couple of years now (1 of 2 in different lengths I got for almost nothing at a shop that inherited them from the previous owner and just wanted rid of them).

  • That is one nice Iro

    Leader looks good too

  • That IRO should be wrong, but I'm quite liking it, good job.

    the chainguard is a Velo Orange, it's design for 48t chainring, but I have a 44t and doesn't look too bad together, you can mount it with those little tools, but unfortuantely mine didn't come with those, so I need to email VO about it.

    I wanted this one, but it hide the lovely White Industries cranks sadly, useful if you have an ugly as fuck crankset though;

    Finally got all the part (including chain), going to spend the weekend putting it together, all that left is tape and front dynamo light;

  • Its a shame Schleck didn't have one of them spangly chainguards in the tour

    needs an aero seat post.
    What do you find better about it than the visp? just curious.

  • krusty, your back end is quite short, I think you were sold two front mudguard instead of a front and back, it should wrap at least half the back wheel like this;

  • Yeah he's already stated that above Ed...

  • whoop, didn't see that.
