  • I've been meaning to do something with this, but it's never going to happen, plus it's too small for me.

I don't know much about the frame, it's a fairly English looking frame though, and i'd hazard a guess at the tubing being 531. Clearances are quite nice, and is drilled for a front brake only. The paint kinda looks ok in the pics, but it's a rattlecan job which doesn't look too hot up close, but i guess it does the job to some extent?!
Seat tube is 54.5 c-t, top tube is 54.5 c-c.

The wheels are Maillard hubs laced to some unknown 700c sprint rims. The tubs are old, but still hold air...pumped them up over a week ago and they're still up!

Bars and stem are cinelli; a 1A stem and Champione Del Mondo 42cm bars. Seatpost is a basic fluted 27.2 jobby, with a tatty white Rolls saddle.

Cranks are Sugino track 165mm. Not too sure of the model, but they're 151bcd, which i guess makes them fairly old if Campag's 151 cranks were pre 1967?! Chainring is Campag, but somehow it's perished quite badly, i've tried to show this in one of the pics. It probably could be ridden on, but i wouldn't recommend it. Looks like Hilary Stone has a bunch of compatible chainrings though for not a lot of money.
Also has some SR campag-style pedals, which seem used but still in ok condition.

This could be a really nice bike, but obviously needs a bit of work here and there.

    **£300 ono.
**No dibs, first come first served. It's sat in Cavendish Cycles if you want to come and take a look.

  • 'women r slags'

    hmm.....

    hmm.....

Yeah, i didn't write that on the wall, just in case that's what you thought...i just thought it was pretty funny.

  • Hmmm... Seems like there's some wordings on the dropout, or is it just an imprint from the track nuts? Might be worthwhile finding out if it's the former as it should help decipher the make of the frame. :)

Yes, should've mentioned that as well. Pretty sure they have Campagnolo stamped, which i guess doesn't necessarily narrow down the frame's origin.

  • LFGSS has plenty of Bikelock Holmes lurking around and maybe someone better acquinted with lugs/tubes/drop outs will shed more light on the make.

If you are sure they are Campy drop outs, I suggest editing your post and including the words "Campagnolo drop outs". It would surely stir up a little more curiousity/interest and hopefully aid those looking at purchasing the bike.

Also, look at the back of the cranks and see if they are pista cranks or are double rings crank converted to single. Another plus point if they are pista :)

He's already said that they're track cranks not road cranks.

Yes, they do appear to be. The backs seem to have proper recesses for the chainring bolts, and don't look like they've had any tabs shaved off.

  • now sold!!!

He's also not too sure of the model, and as highlighted above, I am trying to point out the positives rather than picking bones ;)

Someone got a deal, new owner care to reveal your identity? :)

Sorry to be pedantic, but pista is italian for track and as such is used as a model name on italian branded cranks - eg campagnolo or gipiemme.
Sugino don't make any cranks called pista as they are japanese.

Any news on those rims by the way? (:

  • I know the difference, just wanted to clear that these are not converted ones, double chainring cranks coverted by shaving the inner ramps as highlighted above by phaser.

Will revert back to you, closing a deal which I need to ship overseas :) Will make sure you get a response by Sunday?

  • Yeah thanks, that'd be great.
