Deepest double toe clips?

Hey,

I've got genetic's large double toe clips atm, and they're just too small for my size 12 hooves. I'm awear of the of the MKS deep ones, but they're not black (which I'd prefer) and they're not doubles. I could get plastic ones but they're to horrid to envisage on my bike. Has anyone had any experince of any deeper ones that they could recomend?

the biggest i've found are some system ex 2 gate clips. seem to be bigger than the mks large

@ vélo libre - Surely they'll just crack and flake as they flex and clip the ground? I Could see if someone will powder coat them though....

Dont get me wrong my feet fit in them, they just dont come yup as far up my foot as i would like. I find that the cage ends on the top of the ball of my foot, which leaves me feeling rather unsecure. I'd like something that extends onto the top flat bit of my foot ideally. If I have to slow down rapidily i always feel my left foot's about to pop out as its pulling up on the pedal. I had a go on my dad's bike the other day and his el cheapo plastic straps come right up to the middle of the laces on my shoes which i found to be a far more secure fitting

Are you wearing Chunky McChunkerson brand extra hefty skate shoes by any chance? Try a pair of Converse/ Vans Flat-Tops/ Asics Onitsuka Tigers/ Adidas Sambas etc. Clips and straps weren't designed for skate shoes... Equally check what pedals you're using, I originally used a pair of MTB pedals with straps and clips and they just didn't reach up my foot far enough at all due to the length of the MTB pedals... Swapped to some MKS pedals and they're snug as a bug...

I wear vans era's and use Origin8 pro track light pedals, nothing wacky i think i'll just have to change to some mks deeps and live with the silver

Interesting thread, I wear new balance 12.5 which fit well but are quite long, I have clips but they position the ball of my foot right over the rear edge of the pedal, not nice, from memory they're Christoph XLs or something like that (I'll have a look later). I'll check out whatever the thread recommends.

Don't suppose anyone's aware of any developments on this front for those of us with large feet?
