Has anyone ever got a tattoo of a poem? That's what I want to get. First tattoo. Need the name of a person who can add visual style to my words. As it's a first it can't be too big. I'm thinking a square of flesh on my lower calf.
I want words because they mean more to me than pictures. These are specific words which are to remind me of what I have been through this year (very shit year), how I have come out the other side (to find the world of bikes and happiness) and what to think of in case I get into shit again.
Many thanks for the help. And yes I did a search, apologies if I have not been Poirot enough.

my friend has both calves tattood with self-penned poems.
one for good times, one for bad.
He loves them, I think they look a bit daft....
but I dislike text tattoos.
Saw a wicked one today, palestinian freedom fighter + catapult blackwork, looked epic!
don't have a pic tho, sorry. -

I am still thinking of working out a way of distilling my poem down to 5 words and them incorporating them into some sort of image.

Going back to the blackwork stuff, I have a tattoo on the top of my left arm that's never gonna fit in with anything else and it's pretty heavy black so I was thinking of getting the area blacked completely but I dunno where to start/stop and what would happen around my armpit.
Dont have pics of the actual tattoo but it's this
And its right at the top of my arm. -

I dont know anyone who does lettering very well in London. I do have one word on my arm, but not speaking terms with the artist who did it in Upminister. But I do have some random friends over the UK with lettering.

Ta Lileth.
I'm thinking I may get a bike where the downtube and toptube etc are replaced by special words/ words for wheels etc.
So may be OK with a normal artist who just does well with clean shapes.

and dot work.

Yeah I think i'd be best to talk to my guy about it.
Just whenever I go to do some talking I end up doing some booking and paying too haha.
Pretty sure I want to get the area blacked, def want some somewhere n this seems like the best place.
Might just go like halfwa down upperarm or something. -

I think the guys here will be better to advise you on the artists in London (if thats where youre based) rather than me!

I dont believe she has a waiting period as she's learning how to tattoo, so erm, give them a call on 07890 975 082 or 01323 738066 and ask for Harriet Heath. I do have to remind you shes in Eastbourne, but it's like 17quid on the train.

But have to warn you it is hard to find an artist who's keen to do solid black work as it can be a long progress, I have a few friends who have had trouble finding an artist with the patience.

I'm gonna go with the Happy Sailor. Their images show a great mix of good lettering and clean styles.

What's everyone's favourite method of aftercare?
I used Vaseline Dermacare cream. Kept the tattoos nicely healed and vibrant.

Bepanthen nappy-rash cream on mine. Worked well.

Another vote for Bepanthen here, it worked brilliantly on my rib tattoo.
Excellent.
