Ah but where were you 10 metres before the line? that's where the judges take it from. They've turned away and started on the custard creams by the time y'all cross the actual finish line.
None the less, they're the only judges we've got and they turn up week in week out purely voluntarily. Its so hard to find people to help out who are enthusiastic about racing, but don't actually race themselves...

Yes. I have grown quite fond of those old guys. Although the Devil Race is a bit 50/50 with them!
Racing is getting shorter and shorter by the week. I guess its pretty much a standard program for the last 3 Wednesdays? It's too dark for me to race by about 8.30 now

Slightly condensed programme, but not standard. Today is the return of Course du Points. Next week is handicap points, and the final week is a keirin.

Keirin!!! Wicked

Oh, and the last night of the year (18th) is fancy dress night. Time to dust off all your ridiculous old cycling gear.
Or for Matt and Stelle, no difference from usual.

Sun is out and roads are slowly drying in the west end. What's its like in South London anyone?
-
• #862
It's raining in Manchester.
Sorry. -
• #863
ohh what you doing there Stelle?
It's always raining in Manchester apparently, are you in the velodrome? The roads seem to be drying out round here too. But it's not really my sort of weather to be honest.
Can someone post an update around 6ish?

Dont think I can be bothered tonight. Its black out there so won't risk it
-
• #865
It's raining heavily here in Beckenham. And for that reason, I'm out.
-
• #866
It OK in Brixton, Roads dry. Dark sky though...

Well I figured the storm was heading South. It chucked it down in Shoreditch just before I left work so it's probably touch and go if it rains down there. I didn't fancy it so I came home. I'm not very fast when the suns not out either ;)
A bit like a a lizard -

It's always raining in Manchester apparently, are you in the velodrome? It is always raining in Manchester, it's just how it goes up here. There be hills and things and the clouds break on them. No velodrome planned sadly, just a bit of escapism. My hometown, see.

Went up to the track but the League was cancelled :-(
-
• #870
I'm not surprised. We had a very intense rain shower at about 1930, on top of earlier rain. If HH got half of it, racing would have been cancelled.
By my reckoning, that's the first league meeting of the season to be lost to the weather.
-
• #871
Yeah I figured that might be the case and yes I do believe it is the first Wednesday cancelled this year, which is just great really

Only 2 more Wednesday night meets left. Who's in tonight?
-
• #874
Hopefully, yes.
-
• #875
Will be there, hopefully. Reckon I'll need to be with the Bs tonight though.
I am about 99% sure I won the B Snowball race, and didn't come second as it says. I can live without the 0.1 points though, and be happy in the knowledge I beat a man called Snowball in the same race.
