Oh, just two will do nicely (as in the C&H pub sign). ;)

LittleHeather - did you find a small frame in the end?

    Hi Han
Firstly, welcome to the site! Think there's been a misunderstanding as I very much do have a bike and had it since May (before I joined the forum). It's a custom Hewitt frame and I'm so in love with my bike!
I may 'up-grade' next year, (i'd have to keep Tiny Tim though - I couldn't bear to get rid of him!) so it's always good to hear about other small frames out there.
Enjoy your new bike - I'm sure Brixton Cycles will do an awsome job on the build - my fiance swears by those guys!

  • Hello,

I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello to everyone.
I have recently striped and repainted a 3 speed bicycle for a friend and enjoyed it so much that i want to build my own. I am hoping to buy a light-ish frame (hopefully will be able to find something here) and build my own single speed.

Does anyone know of a good mechanics course that i could take? Feel like i should know a bit more practical knowledge before i start a project. Im based in Islington.

    Cheers,

    Bec

Ah, glad to hear it. Custom frame - wow! :)

I had a test-ride on my IRO HD a few days ago - I love it soooooo much. It's lovely to have a bike that's the right size! They're just gonna fit the handlebars then I'm ready to go.

Thanks Oliver, i will check it out.

Oh, just to add, it wasn't custom for me (I wish!). I got it off ebay back in April but the fit is awesome (my fiance had a fettle and changed a few bits). I so love my bike - Tiny Tim (I had to name him)!

  • Hi all, just thought I'd say hello to get myself started.
I ride a steamroller atm and its great, but in the market for something a bit smaller 49-51 cm so if someone has something they want to part with =) ..

  • Your steamroller is the smallest is it?

  • second smallest, 53 cm i believe ~

  • Have you though about getting the smaller steamroller frame? I mean there's not much of a choice for uber-small frame with the exception of those 650c frame.

If you like your Steamroller, and think it's great, then would it make sense to get the one that fit you better?

  • yes on both counts... was hoping to get something secondhand though hence the hunting ..

  • yay! i am so happy that this exists

  • Helena where have you been? you were missed on the Brighton ride!

  • Hi all, first time on the forum (or any forum). Have found myself making the switch from playing hockey at the weekends to going for a spin on the bike instead, and loving it, although it's left me in the market for a smallish road bike (I'm about 5.3), good to see some good advice on that here. Great job on the ladies forum. M

  • Helloooo!
I'm a new lady to the forum! Women will take over :D
It's really good to see when the ladies go out for practice rides and track sessions.
I'm really getting into serious cycling and next season I am going to start racing so any advice would be brilliant! T

  • Hi Folks,
I've been lurking on the forum for a bit and went on the 50 Fixed ride last year. I'd like to come along on further rides in due course though currently recovering from knee surgery after being knocked off the bike about 18 months ago. Knee not recovered enough to commute on the singlespeed every day at the moment though I may join you on the geared bike. Will try and make it to South drinks at some point too.

Great job on the forum btw!

p.s. Mounty - friend of mine is selling a small road bike. PM me if you'd like to know further details.

  • hey! new lady on the forum!
joined this forum because by bike broke down and it will cost more to fix it than get a new one!
so if anyone is selling a small road/FG frame about 19 inches (48-50 cm) please let me know!
    any help is appreciated :)

  • Hello all, newbie to this forum.
I've recently begun to love cycling (have found a new freedom in Oxford and London, away from the hills of West Yorkshire) and have recently become obsessed with the idea of getting a fixie.
I intend to start a new stream as soon as I can on the subject (have to post three times in threads!) but I was wondering... I would like a slick looking, uber simple (no stickers), straight (mens/unisex) top bar but... I'm short. Like, 5 foot 2 short - and I'm afraid I may never find one where I can reach the handle bars!
My question, basically, is: do any of you know of nice fixies that do small frames?
    Thanks!

  • check out surly steamrollers, sounds like exactly the thing your'e after, and they go small.

  • 5'2 is quite short, have a look at this topic for bicycle that'll fit you better

  • Great, thanks clefty and edscoble, I'll check those out! :)
