I've not heard of one, but there are so many bike shops being started at the moment that it's impossible to keep track. Do let us know if you find out.

Ah, I didn't realise that cyclelab did bike fitting.

I haven't been Josh, been meaning to swing by though.
Good recommendations it seems.
Way cheaper than Bike Whisperer, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I will try Bike Whisperer too, but have heard they are booked up a long time in advance, and location-wise the others suit me.

Excellent! Yet ANOTHER bike shop in LB Hackney. Adding riches to riches. ;)
They seem to have been there at least since March, but I hadn't heard of them yet.

Impossible to find. Just spent 10 minutes wandering around, only to find a basement with a load of closed unmarked doors. Presumably one of them is Beau Velo, but I'm not going to wander into someone's office on the off-chance.
Not exactly welcoming.

Hey chaps,
Cheaper doesn
t always mean less quality service. The man who does it really is a pro! You don
t get video and all that bollocks, but you`ll have your position sorted, and could be a continous consultation if needs to be (should be really)....First forumenger to come through the door gets a fit for £50, but *you`ll need to supply the cake!*

Hi, it's Mal from Le Beau Velo...just found this thread so thought I would introduce myself. Yes we are based in an office as we offer a very boutique personal shopping experience. Our website (www.lebeauvelo.co.uk) introduces our bike fitting and VO2 fitness testing...please follow the links to learn more of the depth of our service. We specialise in made to measure bicycles (and we also have some singlespeeds!). London Cycle Sport produced an article on ourselves should you care to review http://www.londoncyclesport.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1525:le-beau-velo-racing-bicycles-ltd&catid=43:gear-news&Itemid=102 Hope you feel comfortable booking in for an appointment. Best Wishes, Mal

Quick update - popped in (once I finally found it!) and had a chat with Mal - seems like a really nice setup, and most importantly for me they happy to do fittings on your existing bike. Even though I'm fairly new to all this proper cycling stuff, I didn't feel patronised at all (pah - it'll never catch on I hear you cry) and they cater for complete amateurs like me who just want to get comfortable on the bike, all the way up to professional standard fitness testing.
So I've booked a fitting session for mid-September, I'll post an update after that.

Just thought I'd add to this thread as myself and my father purchased Viner bikes through Le Beau Velo. This was at their previous address in Great Eastern Street so I can't vouch for how easy to find the new premises is! I can say, though, that Mal is a very patient and honest guy who is clearly passionate about what he does. He has been consistently reliable from the initial consultation and fitting through to after sales service and we are very happy with the product we have purchased.

Quick update on this - went for my fitting today, and it was as good as I could have hoped for. To summarise, I'm fairly new to proper road cycling, and had really struggled to get comfortable and started to feel bad upper back pain on longer rides. I had mistakenly thought this was because the top-tube on my bike was too long and had made some stem and handlebar changes to compensate, but made no real progress,
After about 10 mins of measuring (me and the bike), Giuseppe (the fitter) basically told me my bike was the right size (good news!) and that it was set up horribly (also good news - a reason for the pain). The actual answer was a longer stem, lower saddle and change to my riding position - and so far (on a short 10 mile ride) it seems to have made a real difference. I am delighted with the result, and also take away all the measurements including the sizing for my ideal bike - thankfully not a million miles away from what I have today, but something I can use for future purchases.
I was a little nervous that given I'm a complete amateur I would feel out of my depth, especially given that Giuseppe is a professional who fits the Italian national team, but they made it pretty relaxed. I also slightly expected them to try and sell me a bike, as they also sell Viner and Fondriest frames, but this wasn't the case at all - even though I happened to spend 30 mins talking to the UK Viner distributor who was there at the time (just a cycling nut really). Having said that, they had some fantastic stuff in the workshop, fortunately far more than I could afford!
I would categorise it as less scientific and more based on Giuseppe's experience, for me this works. All in all a good experience and one I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a good bike fitting.

Hi All
Giuseppe here from VeloSolutions, please note I have not worked from Le Beau Velo for over 5 years now. I have been contacted by many customers who have attended Le Beau Velo for a fitting since I left, customers who thought they were going to be fitted by myself to same standards as when VeloSolutions was working from Le Beau Velo. When I controlled the fitting of these riders at my new studio at Artisan Cycles I found they have all been incorrectly fitted. It appears to me Le Beau Velo is trying to live off the back of my professional reputation and is offering anything but a professional bike fitting service.

The little tinkers!
I thought there was another bike fitting place in Shoreditch apart from Bespoke Cycles - in fact I'm sure it was somewhere around here:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=ec2&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=10.497926,27.553711&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=London+EC2,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.525113,-0.07919&spn=0.002697,0.006727&z=17
Now for the life of me I can't find it again, anyone know if it exists or did I dream it?
Looking for a fitting on an existing bike, I may try Bespoke if they bother to return my calls...
