The reason I posted it in the Brum section is because there might be other Brummies who might not look at the rest of the forum.
I rarely ever look at any thread that isn't in the Brum section myself

That's what I thought when I saw the reply post... there's a metric shit-ton of us here that only/mainly read the BHX pages.

Is Ride of my Life a 2 parter? I missed it the other day so checked the guide to record it, it's showing up 3 times but im unsure if it's a single episode or series?

ride of my life was good - sure the guy's a bit of a nob (carbon bars on a 'bike for life' with steel frame?) but it was a really good overview considering it was crammed into 60 minutes.
i really loved the trip to the campag factory though - seemed like a ghost town! the guys record groupset will probably last forever, because he won't be able to get any miles on it due to waiting for parts for the 'rebuildable' shifters!

Hearing Tom Simpson's voice and seeing him moving was novel for me. Quite strange as I've only ever read about him.

No one tell hippy what he says at 7:50 ... Conti's have an unrivalled reputation apparently...

He names almost all the components of the bike he's building - Rourke, Brooks, Campag, Cinelli, & Chris King all get their name checks (and visited by him). His wheelbuilder was a legendary guy called Gravy in Americaland. We see him telling us all about wheelbuilding ... but fails to mention the Royce/DT/spokes components, or that they're not American but European. Weird. Maybe they thought talking about hubs would be weird. But for me they're possibly the most beautiful things on a bicycle.

Yeah but if you had a chance to blow the budget on visiting Chris King and whoever else in the States and Campag in Italy, would you really want to go and visit Royce in Wales?

What you gonna do about it?

Damn it was a Royce?! I was trying to hunt down all the bits he had on his bike online (procrastination) and wasn't quite sure what hubs they were - went on that gravy guys website and tried all the brands he said he used, I thought they were white industries!ha
Didnt find out what seatpost he had either. Could he have gone for a quill stem with the Rourke frame? or maybe not because of the carbon front fork?
His colour choice imo let the whole bike down! -

Dude, Thom's one of the good guys, you're just coming across as an ITG
- Claims to be a master of any number of martial arts styles.
- Claims to be incredibly strong and physically fit.
- Threatens violence against other message board members or chat room users who anger or annoy him.
- May claim to an ex-Marine, ex-Special Forces, or gangsta.
- Makes exaggerated claims about his own sexual prowess and ability to seduce women.
Well I'd love to stop and chat but I have a Macramé class to attend before sleeping with 10 prostitutes.
- Claims to be a master of any number of martial arts styles.
