Lots of ski poles in TK Maxx,,,,
no idea if they are any good for polo mind you!
I was in Poundland today and they are selling non-telescopic aluminium walking sticks (for ramblers rather than old people) that are essentially ski poles and seemed to be relatively strong, very little flex while I was trying to bent it into the floor. I would have picked one up but ther're too short for myself, but maybe worth a punt for those more vertically challenged than me?
Obviously they might be totally useless but seeing that they are super cheap its maybe worth having a go, everyone- particularly Bogey- has had an occasional duff mallet that lasts a matter of days that have been made from a 'legitimate' ski pole!
