I was kind of going the way of a wire rack or inexpensive basket as I just want it for dumping shopping into/carrying my lock/beer carrying etc, and as I'm at uni I don't want to worry about locking it onto my frame every time I stop to make sure it doesn't get nicked...
I'm not sure there's anything on the market for drops that really fits this... maybe because most people would just change their bars.... Hmmm....

Front rack (cheap blackburn from SJS) supporting supermarket wire basket?

Wald racks at Tokyo fixed should work for you Jess.

I had a look at the wald baskets earlier and thought they wouldn't fit, but now I think I may be being a bit thick...
How do Wald baskets attach? I can't tell from the pic and assumed it was on the bars, but if it attaches further down then this would indeed be perfect...
Edit: Just ran a search and read this: 'it attaches via two hooks that hook over the bars and then a bolt goes across to prevent the basket jumping off. There are then two supporting struts that attach to the wheel axle and base of the basket'
Surely if it attaches as above it won't fit between my drops?? I'm confussled and my spatial awareness is so awful....

What about a front rack and tying a shopping basket on - but putting the basket on longways rather than sideways?

I'm a bit vain.... I can't think that's gonna look all that pretty... Even in terms of wire baskets!
It's annoying because I know there is a solution out there, I just can't find it. May have to start stalking the streets waiting for the woman with the drop-rack to appear again....

But its £90 - if thats too expensive, then I think you'll struggle to find a cheap one that looks really good.

Hmmm I think you're right, £90 is way over my budget... Surprised there isn't anything on the market for this, but I guess not many people want baskets with drops... Ah well, was worth a try, thanks for all your help x

i now see your point about drops. if you're in london its worth going to Tokyo Fixed to see whether the basket can be mounted away from the drops. if you have narrow track drops I can see how this is a problem. the arms that attach the Wald basket on my bike can be adjusted away from the bars rather than down. see pic below.
Right I've had a look but can't seem to find anything on this - does anyone have any suggestions on a basket/wire rack that can be used with drops?
My assumption up till now has been that when I get round to fitting a basket/rack I'll have to swap my drops for some risers or straight bars, which I don't really want to do.
However, yesterday I saw a fellow cyclist with drops also sporting a nice looking wire front basket. The basket was quite shallow, and I think it sat underneath her drops...
Does anyone else have an arrangement like this? Sorry if this has been covered before, I've run some searches but I'm horrendously unobservant... Cheers, Jess :-)
