Freecycle: Ionizer fan with some motor problems.

  • My mother in law brought this thing with her when she visited us, but cocked up the motor or something with the transformer. I don't know, I'm not an electrician. It says on the bottom "120 V 60Hz 0.38 amps AC only".

    Anyway, I thought before binning it maybe somebody likes tinkering with things? If that person is you then it's yours!

    Or if you know more about this sort of stuff than I do and the thing's totally useless now, that would be useful information as well.

  • UK = 50Hz.
    US = 60Hz.

    The problem with ionizers is that if you don't have the exact voltage for the region you are using it in - the stream of ions will be cross-polarized and any spiders in the same room as the ionizer are likely to be given super powers.

    Super spiders are the major reason for low sales of ionizers.
