ummm yeah you may be right there. But I don't know what the standard middle-of-sprockets chainline is for a road wheel ... is it 42mm as well? Really I'd say the most important thing is that you get the cranks clear of the chainstay, anything like an accurate chainline would just be a lucky bonus, for me.
Royce BB @ 112 if the cranks are really old, 114 if newer. It'll be fine, though fucking expensive.
