its pretty solid after one tin of montana and two coats, dunno if it really needs more than that hmmm

how many coats people usually stick on.

Ive a tin of lacquer coming in the post to put over it too.

No such thing as too many coats, if you want it to last and look deep and lustrous I'd say 6-8 minimum...
