Unicycle?

Anyone had any experience of the Gazzetta frame now it's been our for a little while ? It looks as though it's heavy at 2200g, probably making it bog standard Cro-Mo tubing rather than any of the nicer Columbus tube sets.
Need a bike for track league (first) and pootling about (second), and I'm limited to either Cinelli or Dolan (lbs, bike to work). Dolan's are good, but loathe to get one as every other bike at my local track league is a Pre-Cursa.
The other option of course is a Vigorelli, especially as it now looks as though it's drilled for a front brake (i'm not fixieskidding on tubs ;))

Just want to point out the MASH is drilled, its just been plugged at one end and painted over. Takes 2mins with a drill, very easy. I've been riding mine for a year now and couldn't be happier with it. If your thinking about a Dolan, my flat mate is thinking of selling his track champion, road ready for around the £500ish mark if your interested?

You'll have missed the bit where I mentioned lbs and bike to work then ;)
Ta for the info on the fork though, I presume the mash/vigorelli use the same one

where did you read 2200kg? Cinelli claim it's 1700kg a while ago for the frame only, anyhow 2200kg isn't bad, weight are rarely important, look at the Genesis Flyer for instance.

Weight is important to alot of people even if not to you Ed (who would want a 6kg frame for example?)
And 2.2 kg is very much on the heavy side which as Ste_S points out may be an indication of crap, heavy tubing. I think a Steamroller is around 2kg as a comparison.Of course it may not weight 2.2kg!

Well, everyone who believe in the 'magical awesomeness' of 531*
*plain gauge that is.

Most sites have the Gazzetta listed as 2200g, Wiggle go further in their Q&A for the frame and state that 2200g is for frame only, doesn't include the weight of the forks
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Cinelli_Gazzetta_Track_Frameset/5360049184/
It's also listed as Columbus "Steel" on the Cinelli website, not one of the named Columbus tubesets which again suggests it's a basic Cro-Mo tube set.
Pure conjecture here (not having riden a Cro-Mo tube based bike on the track), but I imagine it'll feel a bit woolly and sluggish on the track

I have just got the Gazzetta, and if interested, I can get it weighed before assembly.
it is made out of columbus tubing, and the paint job is very nice, purple I got and it looks schmick :)

For the same price as the Gazzetta, the Kona Rat seemed like an idea alternative, and it's all steel;

that Kona is pretty ugly

So the Cinelli, but nobody's complaining.

Riding the Gazzetta is pretty tough, short wheel base, but love it till death! Good frame for good money...
