Passing under Deptford Bridge station in a car about 12 noon yesterday, there was a cyclist down. Couldn't stop to see what happened, have waited for someone else who might've been passing to post something more detailed but nobody has, so here's what I saw...
Male cyclist sitting on the island in the middle of the road (so very much conscious) with knees bent, the soles of his feet together and arms going around his knees with hands held together (so no broken arms, legs, wrists etc.). Cyclist wasn't looking happy, but there was no sign of blood either - maybe sprains from the fall, winded, or just sensible and waiting for an ambulance rather than hobble off and find they were more seriously injured later. Car was stopped diagonally across junction, with traffic flowing round it pretty easily (it's 3 lanes wide there) so it looked like it had just happened. Didn't see the bike clearly (it was on its side and people's legs were in the way) but I didn't see any obvious damage like a mangled wheel. Another cyclist was stopped at the scene too, but was dressed differently, so I'm not sure if he was a friend, a witness or just concerned passer by.
On the face of it, it just looked like he'd been tipped off by the car as the traffic left Greenwich Church Street to head towards Peckham and Central London but I only saw the scene for just a few seconds once we had rounded the stopped car, so it might've been worse than it looked.
Hope it was just a minor fall and the rider is ok.
