  • haha failed the hipster tenner test i see.
i also live 30secs away from rob, genuinely nice man, always free and easy with the tools/cider if you catch him in the right mood.
Cannot recommend him enough, but yeah, opening times are sporadic(but most days at least for a few hours). I've often tried to pay rob and him not accept money, maybe you were being obnoxious?
    Go there and buy stuff.

Is that what he calls it? Well, if he wants to treat me or anyone else with contempt because of my age or the way I dress, he needs to change his attitude. All that he achieves by doing that is to spread bad publicity. Word of mouth works both ways you know.

Don't patronise me. I'm always polite and friendly, as I was that day.

  • cheers guys ^^
will go there soon to score me some weinman centre-pulls (providing he has them of course)

  • what on earth is the 'hipster tenner test'? that sounds obnoxious to me.

  • Superhipster

only cos you would fail it

  • Sorry, i guess you guys missed the sarcasm in my post. Apologies. All i know is that i've had great service in there always. There's no tenner test at all, i've seen him ask for money then start laughing. Also seen him tell people he doesn't sell bikes. I've often used his tools and offered to pay and him not accept money, maybe you caught him on a bad day. Sure you weren't being obnoxious, was just in a weird mood with my post earlier.

  • Anyone else noticed Rob in a new Tescos advert?! I may have just been tripping out after the Dun Run.

  • Yep, holding a nice blue Eddy Merckx.

  • Definately one of the best bike shops in london and the world, Rob is lovely and Cassius is hairy, strong and lovely too.

  • WORD. Not seen it mentioned anywhere but Retrospective Scooters out the back of Wood Green Shopping Galaxy have a load of beautiful vintage Italian bikes in their shop. They're a scooter shop/workshop but they've got all these bikes. 'Spensive I'm sure but they're there if yoy like your auld steel.

  • Has anyone had bike/Frame restored here?

I'm thinking of sending a frame here or to Atlantic Boulevard for restoring.

  • I've had bikes restored by Rob - excellent in all cases but he does not do respray work himself. We have used both Atlantic Boulevard (respray and chrome work) and ColorTech (respray) - both lovely results and recommended!
