I always try to ride out to catch up with mates in Alderminster, its a decent roll out. Will give you a shout sometime. -

I go to school in Alcester, and hang round in Stratty quite a bit. I know that blake, who I'm sure will pop up on this thread in a bit, works at the cycle studio, and lives in henley. I'm on gears though - Blake is on fixed and gears. I am thinking about buildin up a fixed though as I enjoy riding my Dolan on the track and wanna basically ride round stratty doing skids and stuff :)

Cool, think I might need to come and get some spokes replaced on a campag G3, what,s the approx damage for 5 spokes plus truing ?
-
• #7
depends on the spoke really, £2.50 maximum per spoke, (for really nice ones) and truing is £7, but its if we have campag spokes in, if your in town just pop in, we might have something

Yep - I'm in Stratford - very much a touring, leisure and pleasure rider - but I do ride a fixed from time to time (bright orange Claud Butler with bullhorn/chopped drops) ... I'm the nut with the 14 or 15 bikes that lives in the houses opposite The Greenway.
Oh, and I organise the MacRide - www.macride.org.uk and the Shakespeare 100 Sportive - www.shakespeare100.org.uk - both on Sunday 12 September 2010.

Hi,
Would love to enter one of those (can't do both on the same day!), probs Mac ride. Just got a road bike with actual gears so charity rides are very much what I want to do. -

Just got a road bike with actual gears so charity rides are very much what I want to do.Might be an idea to enter sooner rather than later - entries are flooding in and we're expecting to have to close before the day - and don't forget we have a fantastic event jersey for 2010 at just £25 (and ALL the money from the jerseys goes to the charity, thanks to the sponsors)

I grew up in Stratford (well, Alveston/Hampton Lucy) but I'm unlikely to have a bike with me when I go back, unless I borrow the one that I gave my Dad (a single speed Kona Kilauea). I normally just sit in Wetherspoons with friends making jokes about people that we went to school with.
TBH, if I do have a bike with me, it'll probably be an On One Ti456 or a brown Steamroller with the logos taped over. Feel free to shout "do a skid" at me.

hey gang, just had someone in who has had their trek 1000 road bike stolen in stratford, you literally could not miss it if you saw it! its a 63cm! brushed aluminium frame colour with a fulcrum racing five wheelset in black and red, if you do see it please let me know at the shop (the cycle studio) or if your feeling brave and its locked up somewhere around town, feel free to double lock it and again come to the shop, really great customer of mine so i'll be happy to see it returned to him, all the best guys

Is there anybody out there?? I ride most evenings but never see any fixed stuff, only folks with all the gear, and no idea.
