What tricks frame?

Posted on
  • Hi, im looking for some help/advice on buying a tricks frame. i recently got into trick riding and have had a charge plug and cutter both of which i dnt feel are right for me, the plug seamed to mellow to ride to realy throw about and the cutter is too short with terrible foot/wheel clearence or lack of. im doin some research before buying another so hopfuly i'll get a frame that'l work for me and i'll want to keep.

from what i can see main choices are between a scisssor and a thrasher, scissor not being in stock anywhere for another month or so and the thrasher not quite released. ive seen the identiti frame advertised as coming out soon too, dose anyone know much about these? are there any other decent frames about too ive missed? ive read the 'building a tricks bike' thread and ive love one of the yank frames but they are well out of budget. ive got around 350 to spend, more if i sell my cutter before hand. any help will be greatly appreciated

  • If you can sell the cutter first you can get a gorilla kilroy for £550'ish. Hopefully i will be doing the same. If not go for the scissor, for the money it's pretty much the best frame out there.

  • How tall are you?

Personally I'd wait for the Thrasher. I think volume have nailed the Geo on that one (it's the first trick frame that's got it right IMO)

  • ive heard lots of good things about the thrasher to be honest, is there any more details on price and release? im around 6ft 1 ish.

    :)

  • Volume are saying "soon". I'd guess a month or so. The medium thrasher (56) would be bang on for you I think. Seat slammed, of course.

  • make your charge longer

  • Thrasher fo real!

  • Cheers! Yea im thinking trasher still, ive sorted my cutter with short cranks so theres no major rush anymore.

I did see a ESB the other day up close at the shop, to be honest i think its quite far away from a conventinal fixed gear, much more a mountin bike if u no what i mean. Dnt get me wrong tho it dose look like an awsome bike tho! i just wudnt wanna ride any distance on it.

  • i cover 200 miles a week on mine ;)
