Thanks -

very light wheels

Alas there the rear hub is painted silver (never noticed).
Is there a chemical or solution I can use to spruce up the tarnished hubs and spokes?

I miss my airlites. And they were almost perfect.

Am I asking too much for the wheels or is there just no interest? I'll give them a buff before sale and post some pics if preferred.

I just sold some on here in really good shape for £140 with no rubber. maybe £160 is more reasonable? they are amazing wheels, but quite particular....might not be the time or place?

Thanks for your prognosis doc. I'll giv'em a shining and post a new 'improved' offer.

I need to get rid of these wheels, they still need a buff up, so price drop to £150.

These wheels will need some interest today, if not it's to evilbay with them.

They could fetch what you want but take great pictures. TBF I'd say you'd have had a bit of interest in your sales if you posted pics here.
EDIT Duh you posted pics. Sorry.

Oh yeah, and be sure to call them 'Airlite' not airlight on eBay.

do you have any other shots of the forks, and do you know the rake?

As a guide: A similar pair of wheels - but perhaps significantly they were clinchers - sold for £140 on ebay a few days ago. 27" rims.
Also a set on tubular rims went for £75.
By contrast a pair of airlite hubs in reasonable condition (32h/40h) sold for £127 in the past few days. (much easier to post too).
So you may make more money splitting them - but it seems wrong to break up a nice pair of soldered wheels doesn't it?Anyway I'm interested in the tubs if you split.

@ Ekaj,
I'm n ot sure of the rake, but I' ve uploaded some more shots of the forks as well.
There are some minor marks on the forks so I'll take £25.

am I halucinating or are those xarbon/carbon forks with a screw thread?
Hey,
Unfortunately I need to let go of some parts I've been hoarding.
Front and rear wheel - Airlite hubs soldered spokes to Mavic Argent 10 on Clement Clementex tubs, 16t sprocket and Sugino NJS lock ring. Wheels built by Roy Swinnerton in the late 70's and are machine tested at the national track championships by B.C.F. The wheels are true and the tubs need re-glueing. £200
Kestrel EMS Carbon composite (deep purple) - 1" steerer 175mm in length, drilled for break. £30.SOLD
Based in West London and I'd prefer not to post.
Will.
