So lastnight i'm on my usual trip home but nursing a slightly sore left knee. Due to this i've been riding steady away all week so as not to make it worse. This was my fatal error as "taking it steady" and being a bit lazy put me at the mercy of the incompetence of the everyday Nodders...
Junction past tower bridge eading East, like a slightly skewed crossroads with traffic lights and a minimart just past it on the left. Sat in the cycle lane waiting for the lights to change with about 15 other cyclists in front - all geared up by buying the shittest bike from Argos and clothing aquired by covering their bodies with a good amount of no nails and then proceeding to ride through Evans to make sure they have every single overpriced accessory that they sell.
Lights change, off we go... THEN for no apparent reason there is some mass panic up ahead and the guy in front on a MTB slams his front brake on and winds up doing an endo whilst the guy behind me fails to slow down at all resulting in me over handle bars.
Strange thing was i got up, totally uninjured, checked the bike, totally fine, not even a bit of ripped bar tape on the drops. Mystery how i managed that considering i had one bike beneath me and another on top.
Asked the guy in front "WTF did you stop for?" he replies "Oh, erm, not really sure, think i just pulled the front brake too hard haha" Yeah fucking funny isn't it. Prick.
Asked the guy behind "WTF didn't you brake?" he replies "I didn't see you" Great.
So watch out folks, Nodders are evolving and now have hands far too strong for the average brake lever and also blind people are allowed to cycle - it's a fucking jungle out there...
