Hi Hilary, do you still have the Rourke frame please? I am about 5'7 and looking for a small steel racing or audax frame, Looks good.
-
• #20
The Shorter is sold and shipped but the Rourke is still available. Its pretty much ideal for most 5ft 7in riders...
-
• #21
Ok I am new to posting so think still in nursery period. Do you have any other small steel frames with mud guard eyelets please?

CHAS ROBERTS ROAD FRAME 1988
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 700
This Chas Roberts road frame for the Ti-Reynolds stand at the 1988. Cologne cycle show and was built from Reynolds 700 tubing with spiral ribs with Cinelli lugs and Cinelli spoiler bottom bracket shell. Chas has sent me an email confirming this history. Because it was a special show frame to show off the new Reynolds tubing I would think it highly likely that Chas himself built this frame. It has been repainted and not used since - the lacquar has yellowed a little especially near the BB. And there are are couple of small scrapes to the paint on the forks. However this is really a rather special frame which will look superb once built up. It would make a very straightforward fixed/singlespeed conversion. £225 SOLD subject to payment

SHORTER ROAD FRAME c1965 Nervex Pro
Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This frame is despite having Holdsworth decals is in fact a Shorter Bros frame from Finchley in north London - Shorters are still in business. It is built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing and Nervex Pro lugs. It is in sound condition despite having been rather abused - it could be used as it is or restored would be rather special. With Campag long dropouts it would make a very easy fixed/singlespeed conversion. £55 SOLD subject to payment

SOMEC ROAD FRAME late 1970s?
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Somec frame is really rather difficult to date - the long slot dropouts would suggest the mid 1970s but Allen bolt fixing brakes and under BB gear cable routing would be more like 1979 at the earliest... Whatever the frame is really stunning with just the most superb Tulip cutouts in the lugs and BB shell and a coolest profiled rear drops I have seen in a long while. Over the years I have sold several Somec frames all of which have been very special but none sadly in my size - all either too small or large... otherwise I would have kept one for myself. £159

VISCOUNT AEROSPACE GP ROAD BIKE c1974
Seat Tube: centre to top of top tube 22in (56cm), 23in (58cm) centre to top of seat tube
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27in
Frame tubing: 7005 Aluminium alloy
Viscount Aerospace bikes from the 1970s were extremely innovative with lots of parts being built especially for them and offered extraordinary good value for money at the time. They featured pressed-in cartridge bearing bottom brackets (the bearings are quite standard and are easily found if necessary and axles from some American bikes can also be fitted as replacements...). This bike is one of the their earlier bikes which has the aluminium fork - this was said to be unreliable (the Americans called it the ‘Death’ fork!) but does have Viscount 700C wheels with cartridge bearing hubs. The frames were fillet-brazed from a light straight gauge Cro-mo tubing. This one is in good original condition complete with original Viscount chainset, centre-pull brakes, hubs, centre-pull brakes, pedals and bars and stem. £125

WOODRUP ROAD FRAME c1985 25in
Seat Tube (ctt): 63.5cm (25in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 46mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Road frames as large as this are really rather uncommon - this Woodrup built one from the mid 1980s is really rather nice. Its paint is in very useable condition though does have quite a number of marks. £145

DAVE LLOYD ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52.5cm (20.75in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Frame tubing: Probably Reynolds 531SL
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is an exceptionally nice early road frame from Dave Lloyd which probably dates from around 1980 and which I think is built from Reynolds 531SL tubing - it is much lighter than most road frames of the period. The chrome on the head lugs and forks is generally very good but that on the rear stays is not quite as good. The paint is very sound. It will make an excellent road bike - and comes complete with a Stronglight roller bearing headset in very good condition. The Omas BB will not be included as standard - but could be left in for an additional £20. £169

GEOFFREY BUTLER ROAD FRAME c1989
Seat Tube (ctt): 22.5in (57cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.75in (55.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This a low mileage (I would guess less than 500 miles) road frame built from Reynolds 531C tubing. The frame is in excellent condition with just a few small marks to the paint. Despite having mudguard eyes clearances are typical close road racing. It will make an easy conversion to singlespeed or fixed. £169 **SOLD **

CONDOR ROAD FRAME c1972
Seat Tube (ctt): 22in (56cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.75in (55.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 64mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Condor road frame dates I think from the early 70s - it has been poorly handpainted and will benefit from a good repaint. It will make a very easy fixed or singlespeed conversion with the long Campy dropouts £89
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Condor.jpg
BRIAN ROURKE ROAD FRAME c1996
Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.75in (52.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 42mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Brian Rourke framesets were and some I believe are still produced in their own workshop by Paul Washington - this frame features his very distinctive and special wrap over seat stays. And has hardly been used - the kit that was taken off looked as if it had not done 100 miles... The paint is truly excellent with just a couple of small chips. This frame I think dates from the middle/late 1990s. I was very impressed by Paul Washington’s workshop when I visited about 12 years ago and his frames are really rather special. £169

CONCORDE ROAD FRAME c1988
Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This is a middle range Concorde road frame (disregard the Colnago seat tube decals which are easily removed) which is obviously built from tubing of higher quality than Columbus Aelle (which normally takes a 26.8mm seatpost). Is in very sound condition but has a number of paint scrapes which would respond well to careful retouching. It will make an excellent conversion £89
