By the way, weather forecast changed. It looks like a rain :-(
Yeah, rain from mid afternoon.
We might have to make this one a bit quicker than last time, so that we don't get caught.

good ride today, I had fun, apart from the shitty tyre with a hole. And no blood.
-
• #56
Yeah was a good one, 7 people turned up, 5 made it to Hertford.
We had no crashes on this one, but 3 punctures.

Glad to hear you made it back alright. We were imaging you having a romantic picnic by the river with cheese and baguette.
I'll have a look at it today and see if it will hold. Ordered 2 new tyres last night :) -

Hello All
New here. The Lee Valley Ride sounds great. When is the next one happening?

No in all seriousness John H was talking about another one later in the year, possibly September?

And 2 made it back.
Ollie (forum name?) and I hammered* it back, got to Victoria park at about 7 IIRC. Headwind was a bit of a pain but not as bad as it can be.
Really enjoyed the ride up there, but equally really enjoyed coming back. I'm not sure I could have gone up and back at the speed we came back
+1 !
Cheers John once again for organising.
- well I was at or damn near maximum, Ollie was probably at 70% and humouring me.
no, the headwinds hurt me too, but once we were at the station I felt like a couple more miles would be very welcome...It was good to rattle along the tp at a good pace though. But the wind! In the drops on a towpath, I am so not a hard bastard...

extra plug: this is a good relaxed ride! more people should try and do the next one. but not too many. Just check your tires for holes first...

I got another hole in that tyre, and again not on a skid patch. So I decided to screw it properly and did a nice long skid which has now put a hole about 5cm long in it. Luckily I wasn't far from home. Worst. Tyre. Ever.

There's a cyclo-cross race in Waltham Abbey (actually it's before Waltham Abbey - near to where you go under the M25), on November 25th, if anyones interested in a ride up the canal?
Oh you bastards! DJ invited me to Kew for a power ride and a bbq tomorrow.
By the way, weather forecast changed. It looks like a rain :-(
