  • Hi all,

Hope you can help with this. Due to a piffling hand injury, I've been restricted to turbo duties the past couple of weeks. This has led me to thinking about building up a fixed gear bike I can have permenantly attached, was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience?

Things I have been thinking about:

    • I want to do it cheap, doesn't have to look good
    • High 80"s gearing? as I have a tacxx flow with adjustable resistance.
    • I want a stiff frame so I can stomp on it when needed
    • No need to worry about "comfort" in anything other than the contact points.

I guess my biggest "concern" is buying a cheap frame which will prove be too flexible. I was going to either get one of those Chinese track frames off fleabay, or a heavy (hopefully v cheap) 2nd hand one from here - any thoughts? I guess big and heavy = stiff? This would be my first build btw! Thanks in advance...
