  • ignore yourself go on i dare you

  • i also forgot to use my avatar.

  • you're such a dick, everytime someone posts something you have some kind of smart answer.

    amen to that.

  • i was expecting a unicycle...

  • This seems to be a recurring theme within Graduate students designing cycle related products... There is absoultly no need or target market (other than the clinically insane)for this product

while there possible isn't a target market fro this stuff, its not about that

its about challenging pre consived ideas that ultimately lead on to a better products in the long run, designing things like this can open the door to ideas that previously wouldn't be considered and make things better for every one.

if people didn't try new things regardless how fail they look or how un practical they are we wouldn't have what we have today.

  • Anyone seen this?

    Here's the full article: http://thedesigninspiration.com/articles/forkless-bicycle-design-by-olli-erkkila/

Looks shit. Probably rides like it to. Give me a racing bike from the 70s anyday.

  • NO forks....

yet requires a headset.... design fail..?

  • Something like this?
A more modern take on an old idea.

  • This is called Hub Centre Steering. Been tried on motorcycles with limited success. Yamaha had a go in the 90's. One of Bimota's current range of exotica has this also.

Limited Success means .. that the production and R&D costs have basically been covered but everyone else is still get a Yamaha R1.

  • Yamaha GTS1000 No forks.

  • No Forks ... No thanks... I used to ride a Aprillia R250 and that was vicious enough ... and it had nice decent shocks etc ... I defo ain't riding anything motorised without it being normally layed out. I once rode a Yamaha R1 which I consider the death bike IMO, It was too fast ... and then I got pulled over by the cops but that is another story entirely.

Asking for problems ... the traditional bicycle model has held up because it works ... why do people try to reinvent this shit?

  • RS250? I had one of those once as well - great little bikes.

The road of alternative front ends is littered with good intentions. In theory, they should be better by separating braking and steering forces but in practice, no one can make them work well enough to compete with normal forks. BMW's are probably the best efforts.

Sorry, getting a little off topic here, The physics of bicycles and motorcycles are the same but the numbers are higher!

    Drunken Typo.

  • Unbelievable. Everyone in this entire thread needs a moment on the fucking moron step.

  • Don't get it mate ... some probably odd joke that requires thinking laterally ... don't really care if I get called a thicko I got myself a 6K pay rise.

  • you are all colossal bell ends
