I've actually hunted down a load of this iDose, and taken it for a whirl. All in the spirit of discovery, honest.
Basically, it's shit. I don't know enough about the effect of audio on the brain, but I'm pretty sure it's just placebo effect and some badly produced noise. I listen to quite a lot of noise, stuff like Pain Jerk and Wolf Eyes, but this was shockingly bad. After ten minutes, all I got was a serious case of boredom.
I guess this says more about a) the power of suggestiveness and the mind, and b) how unbelievably fucking bored kids in Oklahoma are. Some other options thrown up by Youtube comments were pretty funny, that is might be a stunt to see if concerned parent groups would try and get MUSIC banned, or just a prank to see who could develop the most ludicrously comical kneejerk headline. 'Are you kids downloading drugs', being the best so far.
There are a couple of iDoser forums though, and they're taking it pretty seriously. I've never gone in for all the astral projection, freeing your third eye shit, but these guys were going on about plateaus and out of body experiences and treating it with some respect, like some of my friends do 2CB and Mescaline. Regardless, I found some videos for you to try it out if you want.
