  • GA2G about an hour ago... Oh, the delicious irony... ;P

  • Please tell me you thieved his front wheel for funsies?

  • To me they are similar to ghost bikes.

    Lest we forget.

indeed. I always bow my head when i pass one.

  • ^^ Thats pretty damn special that one. London, or out in the sticks/other place where bike theft is not so common?

Outside a well known supermarket in Whitechapel, London.

  • Spotted this today in Brighton.. Not a high traffic area, but jeebus...

  • major hipster bike locking fail

  • I'm going to make wild speculation here. That's sainsbury's in whitechapel, yes? Perhaps the owner bought that bike from brick lane, which is not very away from that location. In which case, the bike is probably stolen, and the new owner paid very little for it, and since they have no appreciation of its value, they have no appreciation of how to correctly secure a bike. Bastards.

That certainly is a sainsbury's, you can tell by the trolley getup.

  • Forgot to get a picture; but last night on portobello market i saw a raleigh conversion locked with a cheap cablelock just around the top tube. fair enough, however the key was still in the lock. legendary. Took the key out and hung it on the brake lever to make it less obvious.

  • This is a common epic fail in the city.

  • How much did you spend on the lock?

  • Someone who climbs at the Castle keeps locking a Create with two shoestring cable locks... now ok, it's in the semi-secure bike parking bit inside, but they've still either (a) bought rubbish locks just to use at the Castle or (b) regularly lock their bike up with little more than a licorice strip wrapped in plastic.

Will try to snap it (with camera, not bolt croppers) next time I'm there.

  • Hang on, they can afford to climb at the Castle, but they can't afford something better than a Create?

  • I know... maybe they're trying to get it nicked so insurance will pay out and they can buy something off of here?

  • I know we've all seen it. But something about this wheel looked particularly forlorn, so I had to take a pic. It was like a puppy that had been left outside a shop.

    15 mill spanner?

  • naw dude, naw. bolt cutterz.

  • yeah, you're right, you get the back wheel that way.

  • that grey lock looks like its barely keeping it together...

  • Spanner is easier to disguise in your pocket.
