I have full appreciation for the time and effort that goes into making anything by hand. Especially where sewing is concerned, and especially when it's one person doing every single aspect of it from marking the fabric to sewing the last stitch.
I just wish i could charge based on the hours spent designing, sourcing materials, dealing with suppliers, marking, cutting, sewing etc. :[
It's depressing for me to see designer handbags, made in a factory in a couple of hours, from materials that are less appropriate and less hardwearing, and with less thought put into the design, then sell for hundreds or thousands of pounds.
For example...i've driven myself to the point of madness designing my new bags, but i know per hour i'll make barely anything.
