  • There's loads of OTPs about. Don't only restrict yourself to Giant.

What's your M.O. for riding - pleasure, commuting, the odd sprint racing, a visit to the track? If price is a major consideration, then again, there are some other bargains about. Still, the Bowery is handsome, especially when modded. One of my favourites, belongs to one of the mechanics at Edwardes of Camberwell (Cycles).

Each provides a different answer. I love my Bowery, but its not as put-together as the Capo 5.

  • OTP!!? M.O!!? what manner of mind trickery is this?? lol not up to date on my internet lingo.
Well I've always been thinking of riding on a fixed bike for a while but Seeing the guys at work (Bike courier) has made me even more compelled to ride fixed. I want to see exactly what it is that makes them not go back to riding their geared racers.
Before i started work, my bike was used for everything, fitness, commuting, haring down the road, social bike gatherings, you name it.

I was thinking of Fuji track, classic or feather, but I'm trying to get myself out of debt, not work my way in more, and the giant looks like just what I'm after. Name brand, Price (I've spotted it for £200, Aluminium, pretty much the same set up as what I'm riding now.

How is the Capo 5 to the bowery?

  • OTP = Off The Peg (just hover your mouse cursor over it, and it will show you)
M.O. = Modus Operandi (the way you roll)

Capo 5 is stiffer and lighter. The first one I had felt inert. Dead. But after the new frame, it feels just right. As it should have from the very beginning.

If you can get a Bowery in excellent nick for less than 200 smackers, I'd say get it.

  • Have found what seem like good prices on both of these. The plug is about £50 more expensive, and would involve a little more hassle as I would have to ship it myself (I live in France). But how do they compare in terms of quality gear/ride?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
