Let's just give them some time and see what they come up with, and most of all absolve the organisation of all wrongdoings. We are dealing with Alex and not the organisation.
Borntoolate's reply to this thread encapsulates the feeling of the organisation, try to be in his shoes, a founder of a well intended org. finding out that somone in the org. is kinda murky and tainting their good name.
I am a volunteer at a similar project, and I share his feelings, the gutted sense of betrayal, the "What the hell?" moment when you realise your reputation is now on the line :)
Hopefully time will bring to light more facts and bring this issue to conclusion ;)
I'm with 606, you could drive a truck through the gaps in their statement. So, who is/was Alex Peacock, did the stuff he "sold" (Ha Ha) come from the project, why did he leave, when did he leave, how come they don't have any contact details etc etc.
I'm sure the project is totally legit and a nice bunch, but it sounds a bit like they're getting ready to say "nothing to do with us", what they should be saying is "This is terrible, here is what we know"
