Someone I know went surfing with his mate by jumping off a cliff. The place was obviously full of massive waves crashing against rocks & the cliff face.

One of them got knocked out when he jumped in, and my friend had to then either watch as his friend drowned to death/got smashed by waves & rocks. Or risk jumping in after him.

He jumped in, and spent a long time in the water struggling to retrieve the other guy, nearly drowning himself. But, luckily it was a success, they were both fine. They were around 17 at the time I think.

My housemate has his stem and forks on back to front, and an extra gear lever on the seat tube the wire of which is attached to the back brake so he can increase the tension on the brake as the pads run down.

This is the man who made and uses a barbecue made out of a 3 wires and a satellite dish (you can smell the paint burning) so I'm used to utility being trumped by quirkiness, which is probably why all horizontal surfaces in the house are covered with neatly arranged springs and cogs, and all vertical surfaces are filling up with maniacally scrawled-on coasters mounted on found plywood hung up with fuse wire and masonry nails.

I've seen that guy's house on Teen Cribs. I love trashy early evening TV on Viva (Teen Cribs, Made, My Super Sweet 16) - a bit of an Epic Fail in itself.

Biggest fail is what probably happened.

It looks to me that the owner was inspired by an all white arrospok equipped fixie, and went about the complicated project of trying to create something similar. They probably realised after they stripped the parts and did the painting that they had no idea how to re-install a drivetrain.
