  • Those who Twitter/Tweet a lot are usually referred to as Twats.

  • Much as I would love Evans to take the win (and I never thought I'd say that), I'm still going contador. Despite not responding to Sanchez / Schleck attack at the end, I still back him to take Andy, and without Frank I don't think there's enough mountains support in Saxobank. Wiggo is toast as well, gutted as I may be for that. Most suprising for me was seeing Basso still hanging in there despite his Giro ride, and seeing LL Sanchez going backwards - very disappointing for me.

Looked like he responded to me, it just wasn't much of a response. In fact, it looked like he tried twice (when Schleck attacked, and then again when Sanchez caught up and passed him). If Contador is supposed to be able to attack and attack and dance up the hills, why didn't he hang on to either of them? Just too tired?

  • great stage yesterday. really enjoyed watching at lmnh caning the iced coffees.

    there's still a long way to go l's & g's.

  • Horatio, I had that impression too, but the race is long and things might change when they get into the Pyrenees. So I wouldn't write Conti off, yet.
Smart action by Schleck, to burn up the hill before the rest day.

  • Little bit gutted there's a rest day today. Tour's been great so far this year (unless your name's Lance)!

  • there's still a long way to go l's & g's.

This man talketh the truth, 2 days into the Alps with a tricky stage in the Massif Central then the small obstacle of the Pyrenees. Plenty of scope for fuck ups and crashes.

    Brilliant!

  • Wiggins, wiggins, wiggins.

For me, pussying out of the opening TT was where it went wrong. a 4km TT? he's the fucking olympic champion at that, and it seems he held right back to avoid a crash in the rain.
sensible, you might say, but where on earth else is he going to take time off the other GC boys?
the best he is ever going to do in the mountains is damage limitation, so the prologue was a great chance to spend the 1st week in the top 5, if not top 3. from there, hanging on in the mountains would have seemed more vital, maybe it would have motivated him more.

The final 50k TT is his only hope, and Cancellara and Bertador are bound to beat him, and he'll probably be 3 mins down by then anyway. at best.

So, Sky give a great impression of having it all under control and it all going according to the laser-guided plan, but it's really hard to see where Wiggins can do damage.

totally agree about A.Schelck, not having Frank will be the making of him.

  • Sky are the absolute limit.

  • sensible, you might say, but where on earth else is he going to take time off the other GC boys?

How much time was he really going to take in a 9km Prologue? If he'd had the weather on his side, he still wouldn't have beaten Spartacus, and if he'd fallen off it could have been game over before the race has even started, see C.Boardman.

  • Sky are the absolute limit.

They need to set new horizons and come down to earth.

  • Tubbs for the win.

    One for the ladies.

  • DZ Nuts

  • Sky are the absolute limit.

    more great work.

  • What do we think about today? Predictions....
I think Contador will stretch his legs today and take some time off Schleck.

  • The Madeleine is a long, tough climb so it should see a selection made, but with a 25 km descent then 15 kms up the Maurienne valley to the finish there's plenty of time for dropped riders to chase back on. I'd expect a similar size group to Sunday contesting the finish, unless someone is on a super day (and the rest day was yesterday so someone might be full of beans today) and goes hard early on the Madeleine.

  • Leipheimer to try and make a move, perhaps?

  • Hell might freeze over too.

Has Leipheimer *ever *made a move? All he does is follow.
