Wanted: Complete road bike

In august I will be cycling from John o' Groats to Land's End (870 miles). I don't have a road bike and am hoping someone on here may have something they might be looking to sell or if someone could recommend a cheap new bike. I've been frequenting ebay, gumtree and this site, but am starting to worry as I'm running out of time. I've got a budget of approx £300.

i got a ribble made of 853 with campag veloce 9spd group on ebay for 280 so there is nice things for that kind of money out there
