There has always been cheating since the introduction of the Tour De France, back at the turn of the Century, there's cheating that go as far as hitching a ride in a car, even taking the train, fan kicking and beating up a rival in order for their competitor to win (partly because it was ridden at night).

drug is just another aspect of cheating.

Well fuck my old boots, I'm glad that's all out in the open, there's always been cheating. Thank God and pity the souls of the wretched.
