A drink for breakfast? I'm not on fucking slim fast, Tom! Fry up, or a load of croissant and butter (prefereably both), plus cereal required at a minimum.
No late night for me, gotta be on a train to Richmond at 0730 tomorrow.
Give us a call when you're leaving Reading and I'll know you're about 25-30 mins away. Will come and meet you lot at the station.

If you're on a Cross Country train then they have massive luggage racks that you can get a couple of bikes into. They are right by the bike racks (holds 3 bikes, hang 'em up by the front wheel, usually in coach D) too which is handy. If its a South West Trains train then they have rubbish luggage racks, but a little more space for bikes (normally 2 bike spaces on different carriages, each for 2 bikes but you can fit more in).
Off to bed, see you tomorrow!

How often do you ride out fixed/ss? How far do you go?
-
• #941
Nah, Castlepoint's fun when it's empty. Maybe not your cup of tea but not hell on earth, that's the Sovereign Centre. Or Poole.
Sooner or later I'll manage one of these long rides, but (in ascending order of importance) a) I've been busy for the last few months (but now am freeee), b) I thought I had notifications turned on for this thread but obviously didn't, so I only find out about this stuff too late, c) I'm deeply afraid that you'll all have calves the size of my thighs looking like walnuts stuffed into a pair of tights and I'll be left behind hyperventilating in a ditch by the side of the road.
But now I've got the notifications fixed I'll keep an eye out, HTFU* and come have a go :)

you can get a flavour of the rides we do just by reading this thread,
Wozza wants to start coming out too soon, you need something more than about 60 gear inches to make a decent trip though. we likely riding this weekend as it goes.
the ning network should cater for all the fixie skidding and polo meets though. -
• #943
I'm down in Poole this weekend, if the weather's good I'll be taking the bike with me and all. If anything's going on and you're all feeling generous I wouldn't mind tagging along.

• #944
I might be moving down to the B'mouth area in a few months, MTB and long rides with hills are my thing, but with cafe and pub stops not hardcore training style. You up for any of that *.m.f and others?
-
• #945
yeah, all good. we have the Purbecks, not knarly trails , but enough up and down to keep us out of trouble, plenty of country pubs you might like, good road circuits, you have a few bikes right? theres a polo bunch down here too but more than all that, its a beautiful place, good lucks with it.

Will be good to meet you - A ride including lots of hills and pub stops sounds like a perfect ride to me. Is the move career related?

Cool - What kind of bike are you bringing?

yep, coaching sat need to check some places Moors Valley way in the day.
Up for a laugh sunday, the Studland ferry experience is just such a good one, even after shitloads of trips it gives me a kick to feel like youre going somewhere, we could head for Lulworth? if some of Wozzas mates want to come over, they could just do Swanage, ( I will txt him) then we ride the Tyneham? anyway, will be up for it. -
• #948
I'm in for a bit of gradient, yes.
-
• #949
Don't think my overgeared ss commuteytimetrial thing is appropriate for the purbeck hills, so I'll be bringing something reasonably light with lots of gears. No mud for me, just tarmac please.
-
• #950
