  • Have you clamped the cable for the derailer on the wrong side of the clamp bolt (hope this makes sense, kinda hard to think how to describe this)?

    If so it will change the amount that the derailer moves for each detent on your shifters, making it work fine in some positions but not others because each movement is longer or shorter than the distance between sprockets.

    Alternatively is there something causing increased friction in your cabling?
