I hit the rear of the bus on my way there. Didn't put me off much.
Bit windy tonight, so we finished just after 10pm. -

I ended up nodder-racing both there and back. On the way home had this over-competitive old dude crouched right down over his handlebars who kept overtaking and then slowing right down once he'd passed. Got so irritating, I had to put my foot down and keep it there to push away from him. And it was too frickin hot for that sort of nonsense, when I'd intended to pootle!

Yep, there's always one that wants to race. I had one the other day - fancy frame, all the gear, sunglasses... Overtook and then slown down. I had to show him how it was done and I was towing a kids trailer and running 37mm tyres. He looked well embarrassed. He didn't sit once on his saddle all the way home :-)
Owen, nice to see you again outside you catchment area. And Mark.

On the way in was the fun sort, where you stop at all the red lights and are still faster than the person who's RLJing, to try to beat you. ;-)
Cos I are law-abiding bikeist.

My first drinks night was fun, and nice to meet you Mrlemon, 6pt, owenreed, John H, Ivanskavinsky and of course thanks for the poster, Timmy2wheels! Will meet more of you next week I hope.
Also - cheers for the recommendation to get crumble at Bagel King on the way back. It was good, and gave my housemate serious pudding envy.

AH, Bagel King. One of the very few establishments on Walworth Rd. that I frequent.

Walworth Road really is a charmless skid mark on the tired grey pants of London.

I found myself going over Vauxhall Bridge last night. Have not cycled anywhere that awful for a long time.

Hi, I am new to this, so are you guys still going to the pub? Thx.
-
• #6649
i bet there are still strays like me at the pub, so head down there from around 18.00 and make yourself known.
although, once i had a pint, i might be persuaded to come and have a quick booze run for the crash head, given there are some to ride together with.

I'll second that, although I heard the best line of my life walking down East Street market off these two young girls (both pushing prams) It essentially went like this:
Slut 1: "H'e a dickhead"
Slut 2: "Definately. He's basically paying you for sex."Classic.
No can do tonight. GF is back from Italy!
Jimbilly: Will be 'round BC tomorrow.
