I used to windsurf - and I watched that on the TV a while back.
I've done enough to know how hard it is - utter respect to anyone who goes out in conditions like that.

I teach at a T15 in the summer down on Axbridge reservoir. I used to be good then I moved to london. Had started speed looping but now I dunno if I could even carve one round....grrrr london being so far away from water.
my mate george actually sailed as a non filmed participant at rhosneigr for the red bull thing, mentalist. fucking ace vid though. always makes me wanna get to some water..
what gear you use? I've got an F2 guerrilla from ages ago, and tushy storms.

i just realised what 'tushy storms' looks like to a non sailor.

I like the helicopter tack 2.14 - High wind free style techniques ftw.
Isnt that more of a flaka?

I don't have any gear myself, goin to Vassiliki for 4 weeks for an instructor course. Never done anything but cruising at low winds since I was 8, so gonna be glad to get some skills down and make a bit of cash for 4 weeks after that!

does anyone have a recommendation of a good starter kit, or a website with good reviews I could check out to learn more? I used to surf a bit when I was younger and now I have somewhere I could keep a board near a beach I would like to get back into it.

Bumping this for the sheer joy that i have got out of windsurfing in the past week.
I have done a little windsurfing in the past, nothing more than pottering about in polite winds tacking and gybing about 5 years ago.
I was fortunate enough to blag some time at a mark warner sailing resort on kos over the week just gone and totally focussed on getting my skills upped in bigger winds. By the end of the week i was in the straps and harness, carving, beach starting and planning across the 5 foot swells.
Clipping across the tops of the waves in high winds on open water was as exhillarating as the first time i went through 45mph descending on the bike. terror induced grin.
Love the fact that as a featherweight i get up on the plane long before the fatties.
A+
Any of you guys windsurf?
Came accross this:
Gonna email them for the HTFU potion recipe.
