  • The big clear-out goes on! Unusual Trek carbon tubed frame, bonded with ally lugs.

    60cm. 700c wheel size. 135 dropout.

Irridescent purple and carbon. Paint has flaked in a couple of places, but could be rectified, or colour changed easily.

All sound, and should be a nice ride. You won't meet many others!

How do you value this? Gimme 50 quid by the weekend?

I have no idea why the photos are all attaching themselves sideways!

  • Now dibsed via PM. Subject to postage.

  • barginzzz

  • bruv

  • those pictures are making me dizzy lol

  • Re-offered due to being let down by previous dibser going silent on me. Grr!
Back in London Sunday night till Thursday. Dibs it now!

  • That's awesome... shame its so big.

BTW are you sure it's not a 62cm (pic #5)?

  • Dibs, just pm u. Let me know

  • following a rash of PMs all asking the same question. This is not a track frame. It's a road frame, so it does not have horizontal dropouts.
the measuremeent is C-C, the old fashioned way. If you meansured right to the seatr lug you might get to 62. I dont have the frame to hand until i return to london.

  • Undibs then...sorry

  • Dibs, subject to confirmation of rear spacing, 135mm?

  • Being 200 miles away I can't measure it, but its at least 130. (if it was Steel, I'd be saying "how wide would you like it to be Sir?"). Ive never had it built up, so don't know how many speeds it was running. BTW the headset is Shimano 600, of the nice looking sort, so one of those excellent groupsets would look lovely on it. If it was indeed running that group, it would be 130 or 135. they're more or less interchangeable to be honest, with judiciuos spacing of locknuts.

  • Happy to wait for measurements, (also head tube if possible).

However, don't want to hinder your sale, so feel free to accept someone's cash in the meantime

  • having seen this in the flesh it's nice, and unusual...and the headset is lush...bear in mind the headset is worth 15quid or more??

you can spring the ally by 5mm with no effort at all...so 135 is totally acheiveable without putting the frame under any 'undue' stress, 50 holes is super cheap, I'm sure it will ride beautifully.

  • I had one many years ago, rear spacing is almost certainly 130 mm.

  • Jeez, 50 notes is a BARGAIN for this. I only saw one made up on Velospace a few weeks back. They are cool. Just too big for me...

  • OOH Wired, with that picture you are tempting me! Like many of us, I've got plenty of '90s bits around. I will see what happens and if it doesn't sell, I may just build it up into a beautiful bike that I don't want!
Ive kept my stable 'carbon-free' thus far.

  • I know it's cheap, but I priced it to sell, and in the photos, I've tried to be clear about the paint being damaged on the rear bridge, bottom bracket, and a bit rubbed off the headtube.

My 'man' in London informs me that it is indeed 130 rear spacing, and quite flexy, and it is 62 high if you measure to the top of the seat lug. For headtube length, I think the correct dimension is 'longish'. Its the same as my 24" horizontal top-tubed Bob Jackson in fact, and that's 7 1/4 inches (or 184mm for the children among us).

  • The previous dibser having vanished as soon as he was called upon to collect the item, I'm now open to dibses again. The frame has been left with a trusted member in London, after I brought it 200 miles for some ignorant fucker to mess me about.

  • Dibsy please, and I will do very best to actually show up :)

  • Thanks canadian, ive PMd you with details

  • Now off sale pending collection by dibser

  • Collected, made it all the way home to Hammersmith from Hackney with it around my neck....finally built it up this weekend only to find that the seat tube is no longer bonded to the bottom bracket, not noticeable until you build it up and stand on the pedals but the carbon tube just rides up the lug when you put pressure on it (making a very disconcerting clunking noise)...obviously very disappointed, though should have probably expected it as why else would the frame have been completely stripped....

Anyone happen to have experience in re-bonding??

  • That's disappointing. I owned one of these frames back in the day, bought from Evans on The Cut when it was a proper bike shop, and issues with the bonding were common. My frame was replaced under warranty when the bonding between the down tube and the bb went, and I cut my losses and sold it on.

  • Buyer PMd to offer refund and make arrangements.
